The local newspaper reported that several men from Maine were arrested in two separate incidents as they illegally netted elvers.
One incident took place on the Jones River in Kingston, the other at Eel River in Plymouth. They article stated the elver migration would be in full swing on the moon tides of May and June.
The elvers migrate on the high tides of those moon stages which occur around midnight.
