Charlestown breachway was absolutely packed with silversides. I haven't seen concentrations of bait like this since last fall at Martha's Vineyard. The bait was holding in 2" to 1' of water tight to the walls of the breachway.
It was about 2 hours after high tide. I was fishing a 2/0 olive clouser on an Orvis Depth Charge 350 grain sinking line.
I started hooking fish on literally every cast. Just let the fly swing and pulsate in the current with an occasional 6" strip and drop back.
Schoolies blasted the fly constantly. I caught about 50 in the span of an hour and half. None were bigger than 20" and most were about 16"-18" but what a blast in the strong current!
Get out there while you can !!!
