As the season winds down, we are generating a lot of discussion among ourselves that deals with "how can we do it better" for the resource. Perhaps now is the time send the message to folks outside the circle. Manufacturers will respond to market demands. If enough people ask for lures without gangs of treble hooks, the manufacturer may design a device which is properly counter weighted to operate with single hooks, barbless or otherwise. They will tell you that there is no demand for such a rig. "If they build it, will you buy?"
Now, while we are basking in the glow of a great season, is the time to communicate the ideas and information found within this forum to the managers, polititions, retailers, fellow recreational and commercial fishermen and other people that impact the resources we cherish. Perhaps the Conservation forum is a good place to run threads during the winter months on how to effectively communicate with fisheries managers, etc.
