Scott - yoour living on borrowed time w. a rod wedged in rocks and the drag screwed down tight. I've seen a number of rods levitate out of seemingly secure spots (including a boat rod holder) under a massive strike. Never happened to me as I always have my rod in hand, but I've been next to a couple on jetties that have gone bye-bye, and was drifting outside of Waquoit this year when I watched a Grady lose a big boat rod overboard to a big fish.
