Tandem Flies 10/3

I have read a couple places about people getting double hook-ups
using a jig with a clouser or other fly trailing. I have never done
this, but would like to try with the fly rod over the weekend. Is there
any magic to it? I would assume the larger fly would be ahead of the smaller,
would this be accurate? Also, do you tie the 'dropper' fly to the curved
part of the shank of the lead fly, like a bead head for trout, or do you tie
it to the eye of the first fly? Any problems keeping hooks in if the fly
is tied the bend in the shank of the lead? How far do you separate the two
flies, and leader strengths? Any info appreciated. As fast
as the fish were hitting on PI beach last weekend, I would think this would
work great for the schoolies.
