First off, thanks to Larry B & Ray for their excellent directions...
got there shortly after 6am and in fairly short order caught
a few schoolies, then lost one as I was lifting him out to release,
so off comes what's left of the 12lb tippet and on goes the 20!
good thing, as the next fish was a blue -- about 7-8lbs...eventually
I made it further along the jetty and when the sun came out, it
was possible to see the pods of albies as they moved along the jetties -- it was hard to time the casts, (I decided against blind-casting), but after a long while, I got in a good, one and we were off to the races...a little over 5lbs, my first albie!!! was using a teeny line as it cast better into the wind (15-20 in the face is not that much fun, but manageable), but the fish were hitting stuff up top. on the way home, I stopped at Bournes Pond and managed 4 more schoolies before it was time to leave -- all in all a great day, can't wait to go back.....jared
