Hi K.
I started using 2 flies on a dropper rig several years ago when I obsered
Ray Bondorew doing do at the Conclave in Chatham. I had used droppers for
many years ahead of plugs, but had never used them for flyfishing. I have
found that they are particularly efective in the fall when you may have
several tupes of baitfish preent at one time. For fall fishing I have found
that a Ray's Fly ahead of a Bondorew Bucktail to often be a very effective
combo. Frequently I have encountered the following senerio: The stripers
will hit the Ray's Fly during daylight most often. At dusk fish hit each
fly with about equal frequency. After dark the Bondorew Bucktail seems to
get most of the fish. I rig my droppers as Ray suggests in his book,
"Stripers and Streamers". This si pretty much as Mike Powers suggests. Try it
you will like it!
