Most often 'reported' spot was along the South Shore in the area of Tisbury Great
Pond. Note the use of the word reported. Dick's been fishing the island for a lot
of years and his habits are somewhat known. If the fish stands then I think that
will make three times he has won with the largest shore bass. I'm saying think
cause my Derby program is sitting on my coffee table in OB and I'm sitting at my
desk at work in Tewksbury WHEN I SHOULD BE FISHING.
Tisbury Pond had been open for about a week and a half. I fished (from shore) in
that area last Saturday night without a nibble. I left about 1 hour before high tide
and the pond was still closed with at least 2' to go so my guess is it's closed
again unless we get a big south blow and tide.
I've been doing pretty well from shore. Still need a bonito and a good blue. Had
a real nice albie on late morning this past Sun at Wasque. This bunny was spooling
me and I couldn't slow it down enough thumbing the spool so I did the wrong thing
and reached for the drag. One small turn and boink, AGGHHHH.
I may have to stay home this w/e, or move all my clothes out of the house :-). I'll
likely head back over in the middle of the last week and stay till it's over.
Also, bay scallop season opens on the 18'th in OB and there's no way I'm going to miss
getting a bushel on opening day
take care
