all the advice these gentlemen have already given is sound, in my book. my trout waders double duty as my salt waders; stocking foot neoprenes with felt soles, but then most of my salt fishing is rivers and estuaries and the felt seems to hold fine on the rocks there. my only point is that if the waders will do sweetwater and saltwater double duty, felt soles and strap on cleat sandals might be a good idea.
the belt is a definite plus, as are inflatables. i've been stranded a few times myself, and have been hit by wave crests higher than expected, which left me wishing i had a belt.
try cabelas. they're cheaper than orvis, red ball, or simms, and i've had great luck with them.
