Saw you out there last evening. (I was the guy collecting the two lunatic dogs which ran from the basin down to the point). You might have just missed out in the Basin last night. There were some smallish bass chasing bait over the dike for quite some time(around 5:30 to 6:30PM) on the outgoing tide. Try walking up the Basin until you see the remains of an old rock dike streching across the mouth of the Basin. You can very carefully work your way out the rocks toawrd deep water. My boat (Starcraft CC) marks the approximate end of the dike. At the end of the dike (@4' at a normal high tide) drops off abruptly into 15'-18'. This is a great ambush spot on the outgoing tide. Give it a try the next time you head down to PI.
