Just got back from the Vineyard and did pretty well considering the boat traffic on the weekend. Faced similar situations that Larry Backman did when on schools of bones....In fact we had a good pod of fish to our self and was working it with a small bunny flie when my backcast hit something behind me....low and behold it was a pleaseure boat with 3 guys trying to get casts into the breaking fish. Also experienced many boats cutting right in front and thru schools of fish. Did manage to hook-up alot over a few days in the Tashmoo/West Chop area and get some fish to the boat.
One of the very positive aspects of the trip was the guide I used. He was outstanding. He was very very good at anticipating where the fish would surface and many times, we did not have to go flying from one school to the next. Being that this was my first time chasing the bonito, he was great with his patience and his sugestions and coaching. His name is Bucky Burrows and he can be reached
