Yesterday -- Sunday, November 30 -- I shook off a case of cabin fever with a trip to the shore with my eight weight and a lot of optimism. The Cotuit shoreline was pretty quiet looking, but I tossed a chartreuse Clouser for an hour or so anyway.
Further down the beach, over the dune, is a small pond, about a quarter acre in size. It is close enough to the ocean that there are signs that the high tide storm surges have washed over into it.
I looked at it for a few minutes and on the far shore, within easy casting range, saw a rise.
White perch? If so, what patterns work on them? I know white perch are big on Nantucket this time of year. Bill Pew at Fisher's is always talking about them. But I've never met anyone here on the Cape who has been into them. Any and all suggestions would
be appreciated.
