For any of you who already have an itch to fish; I was at Peters Pond yesterday to scratch my itch. For you fly guys, what a morning it was. There was a hatch which started before sunrise and was still going on when I left at 11:30. Your would have though

t it was late May with all the bugs on and over the water. The pond was dead calm and fish surface feeding as far as you could see. On both sides of where I was, schools of trout would work up and down sections of shoreline feeding not to mention scattere

d fish alllover the pond.
Even though many of the fish were feeding on bugs, I did manage a very good morning draging shinners slowly along the bottom from shore. I was able to land 8-10 smallies all about a lb &1/2 and caught 7 trout, 6 of which were browns with the best being

a solid 2 lbs. The weatherman is talking 50+ degrees and sunny on Thrusday. If the wind stays down, getting out to one of the many Cape trout ponds might just be what the doctor orders before we get into real winter.
