Fellow salties Perry Lisser and Jack Denny accompanied me on our final outing of the year yesterday. We drove out to Hampton Bays and fished the surf on the east side of Shinnecock Inlet. We had a gorgeous day with light NW winds and moderate surf. All th

ree of us caught enough stripers to make for an interesting day. Sinking lines were the order of the day and a variety of flies proved effective. This is an excvellant spot with shallow flats in the back, oceanfront, and the inlet itself. It will be profi

led in the upcoming NY Fishwire. As usual, a permit is required in season(July-Sept), the so-called Tourist Key.
