As more boats use the new Chatham cut, we are getting a better idea of it’s geography. Recently Shaun from Navionics was mapping the cut and produces this image of his travels
I hear there are still some macks around the east end. Either use a sabiki rig to catch them or throw something with mackerel colors.
A bit hit or miss on the beaches. If they are not there, move to another beach and keep checking. I did that an on the third beach, found some nice activity that move right up to the shore line.
Terry from Riptide Charter:
Quick report for now. Hit the rips with Tim and his two sons. Started off with a slow pick in the pea soup fog. Once we got away from the bigger crowds things got better fast! Fish every drift with doubles and triples aplenty! 7″ Amber Hogy Lures got it done on the fish when the bigger baits were gettnig short strikes. Once we made the change it was lights out.
